the first day of the rest of....or something. 7:28 AM

first day of school and no buses for us this year. a first. i watched my children drive away. in a car. both now in high school. a statement about their independence. their responsibility. their growth. mine and their father's parenting. my age!

a few days ago i thought i had dirt or food or just some thing on my face. around my mouth. and when i got closer to the mirror for inspection. wrinkles. small vertical lines cropping up around my top lip. a little frightening. sent me to my computer googling. sephora-ing. looking for a product to help in the fight. $60 for little tube of lippy stuff. sure, sounds reasonable.

ah, im not old. i know. im younger than most mothers with two kids in their final years of grade school. when their off and out, ill still be young and spunky, ready to travel and be "in my prime". i think. if my trainer doesnt kill me.

yes, ive started training again. it had been some time. i am practically a 65 year old fried food snackin smoker on a tv bender, what with my stamina and muscle tone. she just laughs, that sadist trainer when i am about to puke. but so it goes...ill get in shape and be ready to start flexing to strangers in public again.

i've been away from this blog world for quite a while and i will not apologize. i just had stuff to do. and i still have stuff to do so i make no proclamations about consistency or quality. all i know for now is im in therapy. i have started my new business and i am working. ive got big kids. grown women really, living in my house who sometimes give me the time of day and i like being here for it when it happens. im on a self help binge and am trying to purge. old shit. no expectations. just doin it.

ciao for now. good to be back.
