and i know how i feel 10:00 PM

my house is like the methadone clinic for a certain friend who shall remain nameless and tonight she had a bit of a crisis. she found herself alone (and when i say alone, i mean only adult)  in the house with 4 children pms'd, crazed and without a hit of her addiction. i keep this addiction of hers at my house to prevent ODing.

when the panicked message came across the wire.....i, being a supportive and loving person delivered two hits of her drug of choice to her door. she owes me soooo big! it was an urban obstacle course to get to her house. every red light was caught. every crabby old run down vehicle managed to be in front of me. i even traversed an intersection that had a box of nails emptied onto the asphalt.

she is a wild eyed, hard up, stone cold, nicotine gum addict.

no, she's not trying to stop smoking. she just needs the gum...and so, even though i do not approve, i assist her in her attempts to quit the nicotine without killing those near and dear to her by rationing.

i am thinking that if you could have given birth to your date you are pushing the bounds of acceptable partnering.

i also believe that if your child could have given birth to your date then it has moved into perverse, unacceptable, midlife crisis mode.

as some of you may know, i went to NY this past weekend. i worked out so hard before  boarding that flight that i cried and whimpered each and every single step around the city. i could not put my foot at a 90 degree angle to my leg; my calves were so pained and constricted. my hamstrings felt like steel rods; they were so swollen and hard and trying to ease my discomfort, i showered 2x daily with hot pounding water, leg stretches and aspercreme that made them feel like they were on fire to no avail. when i arrived at my gym for my next training session 5 days later, they were still sore. do you think we over did it?

i went for a massage on monday to see if i could get some leg relief. i explained my situation to the therapist (not my usual, because it was so last minute, my ever so beloved and popular one was booked to the gills) and she assured me she could help. while she was lightly rubbing and i was saying "harder, harder" i kept thinking of the words a dear friend said to me about all of the LMT's here in this undereducated city...."it's just a white trash rub down"  she is so right!

i was heart brokenly disappointed. and even more upsetting was the bill! $75 for a "deep tissue massage" WHAT? i couldn't even believe she dared to write that on the receipt.

amanda and i will be flying into the sunrise in 2 weeks and martha has assured me i have probably never known a real "deep tissue" massage and so.... with the fear of god in me i will be delivered to the door of ushi, who, from what i understand will reach all the way through each and every single muscle to tickle the underside.  i am afraid.

europe, here we come. the trip has been altered and changed here and there and quite a bit AND we almost ended up in egypt but the final itinerary is germany to venice to tuscana and back to germany. while in our farm house in tuscany, we will take day trips to various little villages including montepulciano where the wine is better than sex. i am ready for that glory!

what does it mean when you open your washing machine and it's full of bubbles?

i have an hydrangea on my dining room table that i picked 3 weeks ago and it is still beautiful, colorful, soft and smells good. i think this foretells of good things!
