- i learned to drive a motorcycle when i was pregnant with my first daughter.

- i liked boys a lot...i was even married to a man for eight years (a good man, but a man none-the-less).

- my children were born completely un-intoxicated (meaning au naturale labor). i used cloth diapers and made their juice and baby food myself with organic fruits and vegetables.

- i used to be a birth assistant and have attended over 100 home births or birth center births. i taught early pregnancy, newborn care and childbirth classes. i was also a breastfeeding counselor at the health department.

- i was a vegetarian for a short time and used to read excerpts from "diet for a new america" to my children as bed time stories.

- i did not allow my children to have barbie dolls until one day chelsea came up to me and said: "please mommy, can i have a barbie? i know i'll never look like that; she's too skinny, she walks around on her tippy toes and she has no nipples." i bought her several and a barbie winnebago too!

- i gave my children a hot bath, chamomille tea and a valerian root tincture before bed to make them sleep, then i would have friends over and we'd sit on the back porch, drink wine and smoke cigarettes.

- my hobby was collecting vintage clothes including cat eye glasses and retro clutches.


- i tried my hand at painting and took oil classes at the senior citizens center with my grandma.

- in our free time when the girls were little, we would dance through the living room..them holding onto my belt loops...me trying to sling them off with wildy shaking hips to really loud music.
