im sure she thinks i did it on purpose... 10:03 AM

...because really, it was too perfect to be an accident.

at dinner con las hijas last night, we did a bit of reminiscing about a most classy and graceful thing i did a few years back.

adrian fogelin used to live in my neighborhood; a most excellent children's writer and my girls adored her! one evening, the s-dot o-dot and i were watching a movie and dining on her specialty black bean dip when i remembered a thing i wanted to get out of the car, so i bolted out to nab it.

while outside, i noticed adrian walking her dog past our house and i accosted her with much enthusiasm about her books. she was verrrry standoff-ish. we stood on the curb and talked for sometime, all the while she was backing slowly away. assuming it must be that i had wretched onion breath or something, i tried not to breathe in her direction and continued to harrass her.

upon returning to the house i smiled excitedly as i told the s-dot o-dot just who it was that i had the priviledge to meet and she chuckled as she accompanied me to a near by mirror.

there in front of me was....me, sans about 5 teeth! those tricky little black bean skins had covered my teeth like little sweaters.
this posting is a true story of actual events.
the actual person involved has helped reconstruct the event
