her journey enkindles... 10:27 AM

i know a woman who is wise and kind, funny and light, my friend, my midwife and my inspiration!

last year she had a plan to walk the camino alone from france, over the pyrenees and across spain when she found out she had cancer. she had surgery and went through chemo without a trace of doubt that she would be ready at the end of it all to take that trek regardless.

her training consisted of a couple slow and steady walks through my neighborhood trail, panting and laughing and sweating and sucking bugs into our lungs (summer in florida....it cannot be helped)

she went, she walked it.  she walked about 400 miles. she recently returned with many photos and stories that i got to share with her last night! she also shared her patxaran and orujo(compared to absinthe) the food she ate, the people she met,  the magic she experienced on this path is amazing. she made me laugh and cry. alice is a story teller.

she is strong and tender and i am so happy she is in my life. she leaves again in may to return and walk another portion of the camino. she needs to catch it up but her camino blog is here.
