weather wimp
7:43 AM
it is november and winter is rushing in and i am afraid. winter is the worse kind of pain and suffering for me! heat i can handle. i can take off clothes, douse my body in cool water, sit in the a.c., drink frosty cool alcoholic beverages at the beach. but winter? no matter how many layers of clothing i put on, my teeth chatter uncontrollably. i can take a deep breath and relax but in 10 seconds flat my muscles have drawn up into an icy tension that could crush my bones. i try to crank up my heat, use a space heater, wrap myself in blankets, but still....i cannot feel my numb and frozen toes or fingers. to make matters worse i can get a bit of claustrophobia with all the winter wear and my body does not know how to regulate itself AT ALL! i can go from switchblade chill bumps on my legs and snowy breath to a drenched sweaty body and burning eyes in 10 seconds flat...and getting myself out of those wretched layers is both awe and fear inspiring! note: exposing a wet and sweaty body to frigid winter air has the effect that i dread most but claustrophobia is not an rational thing! in addition to all of this...i am the static queen! i always carry a large voltage load but in those colder months, in the fucking winter, i can power at least 3 household appliances at once with the amount electricity in my hair alone! my own children flinch when i come near them to kiss them goodnight because THEY KNOW, and they are afraid! the jolt from my kisses can be quite painful at times! so today, right now...i sit at my computer, wearing many layers, wool socks, wrapped in fleece, shivering and producing many typos due to the lack of feeling in my fingers and it is at 40 degrees presently in this floridian city. laugh if you will you silly silly northern folk...i look forward to the sun rising up and giving us our daytime high of 80. it is only november, i have so far to go...so much suffering to do....wish me luck.
