oblivion?
8:32 AM
ok, i want to tell you a story about what happened to my "friend" when she was in colombia: about 2 days into the trip, she started having a terrible pain in the joint right below her baby toe. this pain was a shooting pain that on occasion would bring tears to her eyes. she would take off her flip flop and rub that joint and tell it to feel better, with no luck. my "friend" just started walking very carefully everywhere she went, but this was hard in the streets of cartagena as they were very bumpy and rough cobbled streets. one particular day, my "friend" spent 8 hours on her feet. walking and walking throughout the city of cartagena even though the joint pain persisted. she was not going to allow this pain to impede her trip in any way! she did not even say ONE word to her traveling companion about it. not a single peep, until..... the day before my "friend" was scheduled to leave the country she was walking along the wall that surrounds the city of her stay and stepped upon a rock directly under that poor suffering joint. the pain was so severe, she cried out and almost went down to her knees. she sat down in that very spot to hold her foot, to cry and caress it and absentmindedly glanced at the flip flop she had been wearing. in the bottom of the shoe, a glint, a sparkle caught her eye...a tack! a tack buried deep into the sole of her shoe! this "friend" of mine walked around the streets of cartagena with a tack stabbing her in the bottom of the foot repeatedly for two days!! she was so relieved to know that there was nothing wrong with her foot but has now begun to wonder what is wrong with her head.
