over-anticipation 7:42 PM

first day of school is tomorrow. the house is abuzz with excitement and tension, grooming and planning, labeling and organizing....

SAS has been the girl's school since kindergarten. chelsea has graduated and is now making her way into high school. she starts leon tomorrow. she is scared as hell! she is afraid she will get lost; as we speak she is trying to find a campus map online. leon is 10 times bigger than the sweet little hippy school she knows as a second home with children she has been with since preschool.

raven is thrilled! last year she attended florida high because she was accepted and we were trying to anticipate high school plans since SAS doesn't offer that. it did NOT ensure chelsea's acceptance as we had expected so we withdrew raven and she is returning to SAS before she has to take the high school plunge, herself. im thrilled too. FSUS changed her and this summer we got the real raven back....welcome home raven, in more ways than one.

we did the maddening back-to-school supply shopping last night. it was INSANITY! the sky fell in chunks on our heads as we ran into target soaked and shivering in the crippling AC. they were OUT of alot. i know i know, we did wait til the last minute but think about it for a second....notebook paper? seriously, they had to know they would need to stock a lot of that crap. composition book? 3 prong folders? jesus H christ!

today was school clothes day. not as bad....we invited a grown-up friend along for mommy so she wouldn't "complain as much" as the kids pointed out. that was nice. the girls did wild shopping and i had companionship. i even was able to nab a pair of HOT shorts for myself off a clearance rack. the shortest shorts i've owned in years. woo hoo.

uh oh, got to go....crying from chelsea's room...anxiety abounds.
