inside the wall... 8:05 AM

birds in the courtyard outside our hotel room woke me up this morning. during the night i sank lower into the feather mattress cover that hugged me and rocked me. I slept perfectly.

from our balcony, i can see down to the pool and over the wall around the city to the ocean.

we ordered breakfast last nite and now i sit here waiting for my authentica cartheganian desayuna to arrive. i have no idea what it will be and i have no idea if i spelled that right but my stomach is growling and i hope it comes soon!

i must admit i had read facts about colombia that scared me into thinking it was truly possible that we could be kidnapped on the way into the walled city but once we arrived into the country, i was not afraid. i felt comfortable and safe. everyone has been so helpful...well, except for when they are not. but, so far, no major delimmas.

i am having technical dificulties with the internet and i'm not sure how often i'll be able to post here. i hope that we can get this resolved today. i want to post images of this festively ancient place later, so check back.
