i am presently in minnesota. this is the most north i have ever been and i'm sure there is significance there...or maybe not. it is the land of 10, 000 lakes and from what i understand, it offers folks a "vigorous outdoor lifestyle". so far i'm not feeling very vigorous. unless sitting in the hampton inn drinking a CFDC (one person will get this) and munching on fig newtons(yes, i said fig newtons) is considered to be a dynamic activity...prolly not huh? tomorrow we drive to wisconsin, the cheese state. we have a wedding there this weekend. susan and i are both strangely excited about being here! it's different for us, sans beach sand.

the trip here was pretty uneventful but i did recognize a morbid habit that i have. as i sit waiting to board my plane, i scan the faces of the crowd gathered around my gate. i watch them interacting with one another, i notice their habits and mannerisms, and recognize that these could be the people i die with if the plane were to crash. it's usually really disappointing. i try to pick out the panickers that would just scream and cry as we're going down and the possible hero candidates that i hope will be sitting close to me. over-all i think this revelation truly establishes me as a stone cold crazy person, and i am O K with that!
