ciao bella
2:52 PM
no beach for us this afternoon; overcast and a little chilly, we decided to wile away the hours with a raid on the outlet mall. but first, a sinful lunch at a sweet little italian cafe. chelsea, arden and i ordered a deep dish pizza with only 3 toppings...cheese, pepperoni and a healthy dose of grease, YUM! all of these foods that my body is no longer accustomed to thanks to the 90 day challenge. we ate, split up and then we shopped...or, we tried to shop. i began to feel a little queasy about 2 shops in and on our 3rd store, i was shaky with chills and decided i needed to find a bathroom immediately! leaving chelsea to shop, i ran-walked to the nearest restroom and when i opened the door, i saw a line of about 15 people, crying babies in strollers and a stinky temperature usually only found in the underbelly of 3rd world countries. i panicked and almost cried. with my stomach cramping and sweat breaking out across my forehead, i called arden on her cell, pulling her from the checkout line of her store of choice. with my voice bordering on hysteria i told her to "come get me and take me to find a bathroom now, pleeeaaase!" dont you love how i threw the please in there? i would've said something about sugar and cherry on top but i'm sure my stomach would have surged with the thought of that and well, that's a mess i was not ready to deal with. when i saw her swerving to miss a small family in traffic, i leapt into her car and kept saying in a most pleading voice to god knows what "please, please" as we decided on the best coarse of action. CVS! CVS was just across the street and i was hopeful we could make it there before the pain in my body forced it's way out. arden all but left marks on the asphalt as we squealed into the parking lot and i launched myself into the direction of the closest restroom. i tried to run a little but that was counter-productive to say the least and i settled on a rapid-limp with arden at my side offering encouraging and supportive words. i wanted to buckle...my legs were weak and still, i persevered. how could i not? what was the alternative? of course, the bathroom was at the very back of the store, to the right, down a long hallway and at the very end. when arden reached for the handle, i held my breath. i was thinking, oh dear god, if it is locked.... it wasnt! we spent quite a bit of time at the CVS today. with arden as my hero, i have to say that we have reached a new level of intimacy both with each other as well as with CVS. as i waited to recover from the body clenching pain and exhaustion of these events, i received a text message from a friend... "at FSU flying high circus...oy!" my response... "i'm stuck in cvs bathroom. horrible stomach thing. bigger OY!" her reply... "thanks for texting me from the toilet. i love u too. HAHAhahahahah!" my cell phone rang shortly after we returned to our car. it was chelsea, almost in tears. she needed a bathroom....and so it began again!
