bikini boot-camp 9:53 AM

motivation for exercise has succeeded at alluding me! try as i might i cannot get off my couch for fitness.
painting a few walls, sure!
hammering some shelves together, great!
washing my car, well ok!
BUT...
yoga stretches, hard to get off the floor!
lifting weights, OW!
jogging around the block, pointless?

a friend once told me that the only time you would ever see her running was if someone dangerous was chasing her. i am beginning to get her point.

yesterday, i went to purchase an exercise video (and i say video because it rolls off the tongue so much better than DVD). i've decided that if i find one i like, i'll be able to do it in the comfort of my own home and that might encourage me. at borders, i purused the fitness section for a good half hour before i realized the most difficult task here is finding one that inspires me to move and not weep with pity for the plastic cheeseball instructors!

I selected one that seemed to cover the basics. i think the influence to purchase this particular one was because it came with a cute green exercise band. I love free stuff. i cringed when the check out girl said, "bikini-boot camp, eh?" my response through gritted teeth was a simple "Yesssssssss" and then i slithered out the door with my booty! *wink*

my intention was to give it a whirl as soon as i returned home but then i found other, more pressing things to do. HGTV was having it's design on a dime marathon or something. who can remember when you're that busy? not a good start!

i did try it this morning. two 30 minute workouts to be done alternately for 4 days a week. i put on my tennies and began to aerobesize myself with the very buff women on the screen. ok, i know i cant dance that well but i have always prided myself on having at least some good hip swing and rythym BUT let me tell you! i do not! i could not keep up and really i could not even figure out what the hell she was doing! i think it's like trying to do something complicated while looking in a mirror. you cannot get your limbs to cooperate. well i say you but what i mean is ME! i could not do it. i tried though, i sweated and i felt "the burn" but i quit after 20 minutes and sat on the couch. i love my couch. my friend. my comforter. i will not cheat on you again!
