Reading Mileage?
10:41 AM
![]() Lying in bed next to me reading, Arden came across a line in her book that said "..yards of words.." sparking her to consider the distance of words she has read in her lifetime. This being a very interesting thought to ponder and exhausting for her, keeping in mind how much we all know this woman actually reads! We figured that the average small book has pages with 40 lines each about 6 inches wide, making one page 20 feet of reading. So a book of this size with 260 pages is about a mile long. Stephen King averages about 3 miles in length. Harry Potter's books seems to be about 2 miles long. Larry McMurtry's Lonesome Dove is 4 miles long. How many miles do you think you have read in your lifetime thus far. Our guess for Arden would be about 10,000 miles conservatively speaking! Whew, tired eyes? 0 Comments |
